They didn’t sell many of these.
Also saw this, this morning when I pulled into work.
I think somebody was taking a short cut through the parking lot and somehow didn’t see the light pole? The front was demolished, so this was no “I thought it was in reverse! ” fender bender.

The Astra is awesome! They offered a really awesome sunroof on the 4-door. Too bad it has a timing belt rather than a chain tho

Those two doors are ungodly rare. There are one or two four doors still kicking around but the two doors are rarer than hen’s teeth.

The idea of the Astra being rare and desirable is pretty hilarious for us Europeans.

I saw a Suzuki Reno the other day and had to do a triple take.

I don’t know about desirable...but the Saturn version only lasted two years.

Have an 08 Saturn Astra XR 5MT 5-door with the big sunroof that’s for sale. I haven’t listed it anywhere online yet.
It sat for a while so it’s a bit rough cosmetically. Interior is very clean. Just had all four brakes and the AC compressor replaced. Still needs a front wheel hub for the ABS to work. Oil was changed at the same time as well.
Has just shy of 100k miles.
I’d love to get $3,100 for it. But that might be me dreaming.

Any 3 door Astra I have seen is usually inches from joining the scrap heap.

Chains can be a blessing or a curse ... depending on manufacturer.

Yes, poor timing chain designs can do that, and there have been a few poor ones over the years (GM Quad 4, VW W8 and W12, the N20 you posted, etc), but overall the probability is still lower than a timing belt would be at causing problems.
No
timing belt will
last 300k miles. The 4th gen Maxima I got rid of had almost
300k on the original timing chain with no problems with it. I got rid of it due to rust.

Well I’m at 50% probability at that (2.4L Ecotec and the N20)... so that’s that.
